New Alloys for 3.0iSE
Does anyone have any thoughts on the west looking / performance alloys ( OEM or aftermarket) for my 3.0iSE
Currently have Turbine 106's but need to change due to slight buckles and split- believed to have been caused by runfalts...
Whilst on here, any views on run flats v non- and the best alternatives / advantages / disadvantages etc
All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks to both of you - much appreciated.
Just a thought- looked at the pictures of the Red Z4 on instagram - looks fab, especially with the M seats / red & black etc..
Question- in the last picture on Instagram there is a silver Z4 - what are the alloys on that ( if you know)?

Turbines are nice and quite rare, shame they are buckled, I believe there are places that can straighten them.
Tyres - The majority of people on here say ditch runflats - normal tyres are cheaper, ride better, quieter, handle better, better feel, more comfortable, etc. In terms of which tyres there are many opinions, I would advise stick to a well known brand (Michelin, Goodyear, Dunlop, Pirelli, etc) and avoid cheap chinese imports.
In terms of wheels I dumped 18" 108's split rims as they corrode easy and are expensive the refurbish and replaced with 17" 103 'daisy leaf' alloys (see pic) which I think are in better proportion with the car and offer a slightly more comfortable ride than 18" but others will disagree. 18" 107 ellipsoid alloys look really good.
Other mods for a newbie worth considering:
Remove CDV (Clutch delay valve) to improve 1st to 2nd gearchange (it may have been done already)
Weighted gearknob (ZHP or Stormwerks) to remove notchiness of gearchange
Gearbox oil change (manual gearbox)

Thanks again http all the info- very helpful
Whats your view o having buckles and cracks repaired ( found someone close who will repair buckles for £65 each and a crack at £55. Then the wheels will need blasting / powder coating at £260 for the 4- so I'm looking at c£500....
Are the repairs going to be safe (IYHO),a nd would I actually be better buying some aftermarket alloys new ( if so, any particular brands)
Your view would be much appreciated.
Best regards
Steve

i don't think the quality of bmw alloys is that high, they do seem prone to cracking. it's all personal choice though, you can spend 500 pound on a refurb, 500 pound on replica wheels/refurbished decent wheels or push the boat out and spend 1200 pound on a new set of premium alloys.steveprime2004 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2017 1:56 pm Thanks again http all the info- very helpful

I don't think the weld is at strong as the alloy itself, so wouldn't advise on a repair, but haven't got personal experience on this
