Great question, constantly the majority of the forum seem to be disappointed or turned away entirely.

The problem we have, Chris Knott, is that your response to not actually covering our cars in common locations (hilarious) and being our forum scheme, is to simply dismiss these complaints as edge cases. They are not. Your response should be to add further underwriters and address your lack of products. Whilst i applaud your responsiveness, the lack of action beyond dismissal and excuses basically makes the entire thing pointless - there are no actual benefits to Z4-forum users.

It's gone on for too long, It'd be great to move to a provider that actually understands performance cars and is able to offer insurance to the majority of our members.

When I joined the forum and saw an insurance company given sole rights to trade on here so I rang them hoping for a competitive quote. Have to say I was disappointed to be told they didn't cover my postcode
(I'm probably repeating myself here, but I really wonder why the forum is singling out an insurance company that doesn't want to insure a lot of it's members?)

I'm guessing they pay for the privilege which to be honest I'd be more than happy with if it pays the running costs and keeps the forum up they clearly have saved money for some people although it seems to be the minority but if you are serious about playing the insurance game and getting the best possible price then it cant hurt to have another to try....

That said if we could get someone else in their place that could beat the best quote for more of our members then that is a better scenario

It's exactly the same on the Alpina Forum with Adrian Flux.
They claim to be "Alpina specialists", then when you ask for a quote, they cant find the model on the system and then when they do quote ( by entering details manually!), they are way more expensive than other quotes.

Ridiculous. - They just set them selves up for bad press !

I think it would be easier if they created the list of post codes they do cover. The list would probably be smaller

I have tried CK a few times. They do cover my location. But they make you jump through hops and then give you a sky high price.
Wast of time calling them if you ask me.

I think insurance companies take the pee sometimes - they are one of a breed who never appreciate loyalty - they just seem to hike up the price each year .

Remember not to confuse an insurance company with an insurance broker !

I had a fairly painful experience first time round with CK, who insured me, then contacted me and said they had made a mistake, took bloody ages on the phone too. I insured with Admiral with minimal fuss.

Tried CK the next year and was again very long, had to prove I had performance car experience, despite having had x3 Elise's and x2 TVR's, no real issue. I took breakdown cover.

When the Z4's starter went I phoned Silver Knight, told them I wanted a mechanic and roadside assistance, not a low loader as the car was at home. They sent a low loader who had no mechanical experience. I phoned them back and was told that unless I had the car towed (on a Saturday night, whilst at homes) to a garage of their choice for repair, then my cover was invalid until they could prove it was fixed. Bl**dy crooks! So that was the end of my breakdown cover for the year and the car was still not running. Silver Knight are awful. CK had nothing to say.

Called the RAC and they turned up, helped me bump start it, followed me to my parents where I changed the starter.

Phoned CK the next year for renewal and it was horrifically expensive, even more than the first year.

Switched to Admiral, very easy and painless, cheaper too.

I pay less than £200 on my M, for 8k miles per year, for Mrs R and me to drive. I cannot be bothered to make phone calls , but every year the meerkats tell me what I should do. Takes moments as they keep all of you details. Same for house and hound. In fact our dog insurance is more than the car insurance! :headbang:

I do hope a representative CK is reading all the bad press!! And that they either bugger off or fix the problems!
