I did the decent thing and tried our supporter - who unfortunately was £78 more expensive than my current insurers. The reason was the value of the car. I really can't influence the price that bmw charge - the car is a more or less full my specced 35is bought Sep 2016 and they couldnt compete with the current insurers renewal price due to the over £40k purchase price.

I did try and the agent was very polite!

So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

Following on from my last post which is now locked, I ended up going with Tesco car insurance as it was a better deal!

There are loads of hidden implications with car insurance cheap quotes.
Some don't have new for old ( under a year old)
No Euro Cover
Must use a "Dedicated Repairer "
Used parts may be allowed for repair

My current insurer has quoted £400 so unless the comaparison sites come up with something decent in the next couple of weeks, I will stick with them.

Thanks for the feedback about our customer service. Just to let members know, we can now quote vehicles up to £50k in-house. Above £50k we have to refer to insurers and they'll be looking for the Z4s that are not used as everyday cars, in that scenario.

I hope that'll help more members :)

best,
Nick

Cheapest quote i got was £630 odd! Now with direct line for £325 so they weren't even close. 32 years old, 6 years NCD. Parked on private gated driveway at night and in a secure car park during the day. I'll try our partner again next year but don't hold out much hope.
Past - Z4 Coupe, gone but not forgotten
Present - 530d M sport touring
