Reversing
Is it just me or my car but is the Zed a hard car to reverse.
Two occasions i have needed to do a long reverse and it's hard to hold straight.
Fist time i slightly curbed a wheel.
I blame the rear wheels are tracked in slightly making it stable going forward, but wanders in reverse.
Never had a problem with any other car.
Is it a BMW thing.
And have always thought the front wheels are too wide, making for heavy in-precise steering.

Reversing
I have never had a problem and quite regularly have to reverse about 100m to a gate that I unlock on the way to parking the car in the morning. Also its reverse parked in the garage every night.
I find the Z easy to park but I am comparing it to the X6 which is like trying to park a bus and I hardly ever get it reversed into a space first time as the turning circle is cack.
The steering does however feel heavy.

Reversing 'blind' - roof up, wind deflector on & roll bars in the way - ain't easy, but the sensors, both front & back, the dipping n/s mirror and the screen display help a lot.
That said, have never reversed fast enough to notice wonky steering.

Maybe this is exactly the problem. Most of the time I reverse using the mirrors. I drove vans for a while and had to reverse down a narrow lane at the rear of the building and had to get used to using mirrors. If you drove in forwards you had to reverse out.

To be honest I don't find my Z4 any more or less difficult to reverse straight than any other car I have owned.
Anything with steered front wheels is going to exagerate any steering input when going backwards!
If I have an issue it is visibility, but at least my current one has pdc!

Coupes because stunning!

What does my head in is the fact you can't reverse with the driver's door open on the LCI version, on my 2011 23i I could, the only other difference between the two was one was auto the other DCT

I'll check mine next time I drive it
I do remember a couple of weeks ago it would not let me start the engine with the door open, but yesterday I wanted to put it in neutral to turn the back wheel and it started fine with the door open.
These cars seem to have a mind of their own
