Mileage Phobia?

I know what you mean. You want to keep the mileage down, perhaps looking to the future when you change it. I must admit to having been guilty of that in the past. But you bought a car like this because it is fun to drive and here is an opportunity to enjoy so make the most of it.

How sad!
I drove mine down to the south of france and back around 3k miles and enjoyed it for what it is..a car ffs!
Its an every day car not anything that cant be replaced
You need to sell it and put your money into stamp collecting
As i said...how sad!!

Mileage Phobia?

Post by samZ4M » Fri Sep 22, 2017 6:13 pm

I had this after a year and 14k added. I decided to buy a 2nd car to keep miles off the Z, but I tend to drive the Z anyway, with boring trips in the clio. I suppose it'll pay off over winter, as I won't drive the Z. I've done 25k in the Z over 27 months, and I don't even use it for commuting. I got to the point where I decided to just enjoy it and sod what happens! Excuse me whilst I go for a blast for no reason...

To be clear guys I dont want to not drive it due to value or depreciation or such. Simply due to the fact its always looking so pristine and looking good in the drive / garage. Motorway miles too which are dull. Driven it now anyway lol

As you're driving the greatest car BMW ever created, mileage is just a number so go share it with the world :poke:

As above just drive it.

I’d like to keep the miles down on mine, but have never moaned about having to drive it. Normally 2k pa for me, but did that in 5 days last year and now do 600 every October in France over 4 days.

Great fun :driving:

That's the right choice OP - and don't say you didn't enjoy it!

I'll be putting 400+ miles on mine next week. Even though it'll be mostly motorways I'm looking forward to it!

I can always wash it (or maybe not) when I get home. :)
Coupes because stunning!

I am the only one who enjoys motorways - ok, if you're in a tailback sure its a pain, but the rest of the time its great. Cruising along at erm . . . 70 and then stepping on the gas and marvelling at how strong the engine pulls in 6th and how urgently the car accelerates, then easing back into the middle lane - all with the top down, so you've got the looks and the power, the perfect sports car :driving: (Don't get me wrong I love a twisty country lane too).
