E89 Mway muncher

I have to get my fuel level down before taking the car in for a fuel pump change on Monday and decided that a trip to Bath would make a big dent in the reserves and against my usual judgement decided to use the M4 today - first time Ive made a long Mway journey since collecting the car when I bought it. I have to say that the car really does eat the miles up and the response from that N54 engine is extremely valuable on the motorway. I hadn't bargained on a snow shower but no issues at all - the lumber support in the seats probably helps with the comfort but what also impressed was the noise level (even with the exhaust mod flap mod). I know its been said by some that this is a GT car not a sports car and today it really did make sense in the GT mode  .

It certainly makes a great motorway mile muncher especially with the N54 engine, just a shame about the pathetic 70 limit and the fact the motorways are so chock a block with traffic. Just imagine how quick you could get from A to B with no limits and no traffic, now that sounds like fun :driving:

They do chew through the miles quite nicely :) even in my SE (pauper spec, next to no options and cloth seats) it is damn comfy and surprisingly quite economical

I drove from Wokingham to Norwich today along M4 - M25 - M11 and it was effortless. Also managed around 35mpg which is good for a twin turbo 6!

I've yet to experience an E89, but I find my E86 is fine as a motorway mile-muncher!

After all motorways do tend to be better-surfaced than other roads.
Coupes because stunning!

I’m visiting my parents. I grew up here, lived here for the first 30 years of my life! Love the place!

Ah, I’m over near Mousehold Heath. Not looking forward to driving back home on Sun if the snow hits!

Even the n20 2litre is a great motorway car, it’s actually geared higher than the 3.0si and M 3.2litre e85 models :o
