3.0 or 3.5 Buying from Indy dealer v BMW AUC v Private
Thoughts on this chaps? The AUC for a year from BMW is a very solid thing to have and covers whether the car is a lemon. A year's unlimited mileage motoring pretty much proves the car. But at 10-20% more I reckon....?
I'm after a nice spec 3.0 M sport or a 3.5 with a E85 2.5Si to part fund, got the funds to buy now and looking for a good deal in a dead spot for convertibles (including the sale of my own). Don't want the delta to be much above 10K with my car thrown on top of the 10k. Love Huyton's red one on sell section but it is a little bit 1.5-2k too much for me.

I like this one:

Is it worth the extra grand or two being asked for it?

...actually, I am mistaken. it's not much more than a couple of other examples from Indy dealers.
I think dealers will be a bit hungrier after xmas.

I paid over the odds for my 09 35i from a main dealer but I’ve already had my monies worth from the warranty. I had the firmware updated at a local Indy but they couldn’t update the CIC/audio system. I took it to the dealer and they diagnosed a fault with the audio system so they replaced it. When reprogramming it it created an error in another module which also had to be replaced. I also had a tyre which was losing pressure due to a leak at the rim so they reseated the tyre while they had it. None of that cost me a penny.
As well as that, when I bought it they gave it a full service (so it won’t need another service for 2 years), an mot, tax and a pair of tyres.
I still have 11 months of warranty and I will make sure that absolutely any fault I find, however small, will get reported and fixed.

Did you manage to get them to knock some money off the asking price as well? To get a service and two new tyres is a good result.

Kind of money off. Negotiated more money for the trade in and got them to add those bits “free”. It’s as good as money off as it saved me buying them and it’s a fair bit of money’s worth. Doing the deal on 30th Oct helped as they were desperate to do a deal before the end of the month

Agreed. Tyres, servicing, MOT etc that you can negotiate into the deal is all money that you won't have to pay out on and a better trade-in offer still lessens the amount of coin you hand over in absolute terms. So yes, even if it's not raw £££ off the asking price, it's what you pay that matters.
Which one did you get mate and what mileage? PM me if you prefer.
I'm in the market for a 3.0 or a 3.5 MSport. Is the tax, insurance that much more than a 3.0?

Where did the auto/manual come from? Either is fine with me. Got an auto 535 and an auto Z4 2.5 currently. But happy to have a manual Z on my refresh if need be. But auto is fine as well. Spec/colour/age/mileage more important to me.
