Add usb in glove box?

I have a 2009 35i with iDrive and it only has a 3.5mm aux input in the the glove box, no audio usb. Is it possible to retro-fit a usb? It does have the connectors for the mobile snap-in adapter if that helps.

If it’s got nav then it has the USB, you need to look harder for it

You should have 3.5 aux and USB in the arm rest and there will deffo be a USB socket in the glove box.

There is a usb in the glove box but that’s for loading the hard drive, sat nav etc. Only 3,5 in the arm rest.

No, this is all I have. A 3.5mm and a blank over a snap-in adapter.

Yes it is and it's the glovebox usb that I' talking about. It does have the usb in the glovebox but you can't play music direct fro a usb in that one. I'm asking if there is a simple retrofit for the usb in the arrest. (I might have confused you by getting my opening post wrong

)

It was an option back then, even Bluetooth was an option

At least it does have Bluetooth but only for telephone calls, not for music playback.

Yep, so there is the usb in the glovebox but that can't be used for audio usb (other than to load the hard-disk) but no audio usb in the armrest.

right so you can load to hard drive that's something but not as convenient as having USB in the armrest.
