Just two months ago, BMW Motorsport softly announced a new model due out in the second quarter of 2010: BMW Z4 GT3. Based on the current generation E89, the Z4 GT3 is powered by the 4.0 liter V8 engine found in the current M3 producing approximately 480 bhp. The engine is controlled by the modern ECU 408, while the Power400 control unit is responsible for operating all actuators. The transmission takes place via a sequential, six-speed gearbox.

The BMW Z4 GT3 has an estimated price of 298,000 euros ($427,000 at the current rate exchange).

The first team to show their E89 Z4 GT3 is Schubert Motorsport backed and the car was spotted during a training session in Paul Ricard High Test Track in France.

Sort of makes the new M3 GT look plain, and I like that! :wink:

Take the rear wing off and that looks more like the MSport/35is version should have looked like! :wink:

Still not sure if we will see a road version with the V8 though! Would be nice, but legislation is getting tougher by the month!

Mind you, the new M5 is coming out with a bi-turbo V8 so you never know! :wink:
 
That looks awesome. One of the reasons I have a Z4m now is because of the amazing Z4GT car in that copy of EVO years ago.
 
It looks amazing doesnt it? Although the last Z4M racer had a sexier rear in my opinion. I'd love to see some videos of this thing tearing up and down a track! Bet it sounds mental.
 
We can see this car racing in the UK as it's on Shubert Motorsport's calender!

Strange how different it sounds from the M3 GT2 considering they share the same engine! Sounds great!
