Wind deflectors

Post by Machhojome » Tue Feb 17, 2015 7:54 pm

I'm sure this will have been discussed before but here goes. Just bought a 2010 Z4 23....I've all the attachments for a wind deflector but the actual deflector between the seats isn't there. Does a pre 09 (e85 I think) deflector fit? Do I bother ? Do I pay 100 qui dish for a new one? Is it worth it?

Note: wife does give a s**t about her hair so if it gets blown all over then lid won't be down too often......me? Best part of 48 year old bald so don't care either way.

Buy ? Or don't buy?

Ps...did I buy the right model I.e 2.5 loaded with extras....i.e sat nav, heated seats..

Thanks

No, the E85 ones won't fit and imo it's definitely worth having one especially if your wife doesn't want her hair to look like a hedge.
If you have the fittings in your car then it would have had one at some point. Somebody has removed it.
Sounds daft but you have checked in the boot for it?

Right model depends on what you want from your car. None of the models are too shabby! You've got good extras by the sounds of it.

Yep as said it would be worth checking the car to see if its there somewhere.
Its possible that you are looking for a smaller item as it folds in half and goes in a storage bag.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I have checked all around. I've gone back to the dealer to see if previous owner knows where it is. If not then looks like it's a yes to replace .

Thanks again.

They ordered me a brand new one :)

I have a factory mesh deflector and to be honest, I prefer to drive with it off, it doesn't make a HUGE difference and I prefer the unrestricted view out the back

I'm also happy without it. Only really use it when someone is in the passenger seat and on motorways.

From a female point of view it does do what it's supposed to do but yes it's a ballache if left in but you get used to it. Not sure how many guys on here drive on country roads and motorways with the roof down and hair so long you could almost sit on it. If that starts flying about it feels like little needles hitting your face, not the best.

I don't give a toss how my hair looks, I don't even use a hairdryer or straighteners but I do care about being able to see and enjoying my drive. And unfortunately my other half hates the roof down so I can only take it off when I'm by myself.

There's some serious stereotype reversal going on there Angie
