I think your best bet from a visual perspective is to check for speakers behind the seats or if there is a speaker instead of a load through or storage area on the bulkhead. The codes are listed above and the dealer can get the full list of options codes to check. It would suggest the car your looking at doesn't have the additional package and they are fobbing you off in the hope you buy it anyway.fredg wrote:hi guys,
just looking at the speaker layout that was posted in this thread. If there are tweeter's in the base of the A pillars is that a definite sign that the upgraded audio is installed? The dealer wasn't sure if the audio had been upgraded when I saw a Z4 recently.
Thanks

Fredg - enter your VIN at this website in order to determine which OEM options were installed in your car when it left the factory http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html
I totally agree with Lifer. Once the top is down, all the various sounds systems sound about the same.

In a word, yes!
I've bought a car with the pro set up and have noticed that it has more "depth" to the sound and I don't mean volume here.
An open top car is far removed from the best place to accousticaly test a system but to my untutored old ears, it just sounds better and has more oomph!
Ps I'm not trying to justify the extra £'s it cost me either!

You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

I thought as much howing looking on the BMW aproved site there are none with it and only a few with Business. From experience the business will still be much better than the std which is what I had in my last Z4
I am looking for an 2.0i MSport Auto with Pro Satnav, cruise and business speakers
