Oil filter cap tool remover

Post by 4zwmb » Sat Oct 10, 2015 1:03 pm

Hi to all bmw z4 e89 enthusiasts out there. I have a bmw z4 e89 sdrive 30i (2011 model). I need to buy a kind of tool that one places over the oil filter cap in order to remove the cap for oil changes. I live in Malta and I have searched everywhere on the island but to no avail. Can somebody please tell me from where I can buy this tool in the uk so that I can then ship it to Malta? I am referring to that cap wrench that fits exactly on the oil filter cap of the car. Thanks a lot.

I don t really like the chain type because oil cap filters are supposed to be tightened using a torque wrench. Fixit man, I had already found that site you suggested and although I found what I was looking for, unfortunately they don t ship to Malta. Thank you both still for your suggestions.

I don't know how you would get a torque wrench on my oil filter.
Perhaps they are different on different models?
I used one of those with a sort of leather strap that wraps around, then hand tighten on replacing, no problems.
In fact I wonder if a leather trouser belt wrapped around might do the trick.
Will try in future.

Now I have looked at the above link, I see the tool.
