Ive had 2 x DSG 3.2 TTs with paddles ( & ive got paddles now on our C Class ) i know how they work & find zero similarity with a manual gearbox that requires simulated co-ordination between brain - leg - arm , when i say "involved" that's what i mean

Most women wouldn't agree with you, Rob.Smartbear wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 1:35 amBut it’s not the only difference is it Buster, because you’re not actually changing gear but merely operating a micro switch.
I should imagine it’s the same as taking a beautiful woman to bed with a battery operated vibrating piece of plastic, it does the same job but is somehow less involving. No matter how quick it is!

I've had some good, powerful & well-balanced manual cars and, yes, I know what you mean, of course.mr wilks wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 8:20 amIve had 2 x DSG 3.2 TTs with paddles ( & ive got paddles now on our C Class ) i know how they work & find zero similarity with a manual gearbox that requires simulated co-ordination between brain - leg - arm , when i say "involved" that's what i mean
That said, I think the DCT box in a 340bhp/1500kg car is seriously underestimated, not least because most people - not you - think it's 'just an auto' and don't realise how involving it can be.
