2009 Nav to current UPDATE, CD or Update

Post by badbox » Tue Dec 13, 2016 1:29 am

How do we update the Navigation and idrive system.
Being a 2009 car im assuming theres a few updates availale , IS it a CD or a software update

My 3.5i 2009 has

ECE 1.2.4 Road map Europe PREMIUM 2008-2

Which version can I update to and how?

Is it a main dealer job or can I do it myself. :?

PREMIUM 2017-1 is the latest version for us.

Don't pay someone to do it. It's a really easy DIY. You don't even need to pay someone for the FSC code anymore, you can retrieve it yourself with a laptop and a K+DCAN cable!

iDrive software is dealer only. Maps can be done anywhere.

Wondermike, I'm new here so just checking what the rules are with regard to "links to non-official sources". I just had a look at the guidelines here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5402 and I couldn't see anything?

Would you mind clarifying or linking to the relevant rules page please? I just don't want to step out of line in my first few posts!!

Cheers!
Dan
