Groan - more tyre advise

Post by daggartuk » Thu Jan 05, 2017 9:45 pm

Hi, I need to replace my 2 rear tyres which are Bridgestone RF's. The front tyres are good for at least another year of driving and are also RF's - the question is, do I fork out £420 and replace the rear tyres only or do I bite the bullet and change all for for non RF's as seems to be the recommendation of many for £600??? Money is a bit tight after Christmas but will I regret trying to save myself £200 in the long run?
Any thoughts folks?
Happy new year all!

Def ditch the RF. You will be surprised how good non RF are on the Z. Have a search on previous threads as you don't need to buy MPSS. Others like vreds and Hancooks so my out may get a set for less than you think.

V8 Animal is selling a full set of Bridgestone RF in size 18 in the for sale section. Might be a good stop gap for a while.

This is good advice and absolutely right - excellent tyre and I've used them on all my Zeds up to the M

The Good Year Eagle F1 assymetric 2s may be a good price as assymetric 3s have come out - do a search - I use Blackcircles and choose a local garage for fitment

Thanks for all the replies. I think non RF's will be the way to go although I'm struggling to get a set for under £600 - I'm guessing it's because I have 19" rims. Asda tyres seem to be the cheapest for F1's fitted.

Thanks for the heads up re tyres for sale but unfortunately they wont fit.

Cheers,
Gareth
