Oops, so essential, I forgot them. Autolights and rain sensor wipers. I think auto lights are standard but rain sensors aren't. I had them on my previous car and use them all the time. I would not have wanted my new car to have seemed a down grade! :rofl:

Dont reject the idea of a bigger six until youve tried one - Its not just power and performance!
Even trickleing along in traffic the car seems relaxing.

Go onto the official bmw web page and look what they've got and go and try. We can all talk til the cows come home but there's only one way to decide.

Give your vin no to the dealer and tell them you want nothing less than your current spec.

I started with a 23i, 2.5 straight six and loved it!, then I went to a meet and heard the sound of the 35is......the rest is history as they say! :D
Supra twin turbo, great in a straight, rubbish around twistys
NSX, pretty cool but no heated seats and can't get top down
Z4 23i sdrive, now gone, got the wrong car, need more power.
Z4 35is loved and missed
Z4 M40i one word sums it up Wow!

With my £15k budget I chose mine based on :


Engine (35i)
Adaptive M suspension
Wheels
Colour (deep sea blue with cream leather like my beautiful old Golf V6 4motion)
Approved Used car from BMW network
Under 60k

I got all of the above and more for £13,600, 2009 model with 53k from Marshalls BMW in Hook, Hampshire, and they gave her a major service so I'ts not due in until 2019. Great deal.

Things like satnav and Bluetooth weren't a consideration. That's what my daily driver mk7 Golf is for!

I love the fact that it's just me and the car and no one can ring me while I'm driving!

However, if this was my daily driver, my list of priorities would be totally different.

Not really Paul, it was the na 2litre that most comparisons/choices were between-the forced induction 2litre is a different kettle of frogs entirely. I think it stands up well to the 3litre in most aspects :thumbsup:

These sort of figures are achievable from the n20 2litre engine with a reputable remap :o

There is a lot of good feedback,

Yes - test drive an 35i or 35is - as they sound sweet
Then - test drive a 28i if you can find one or an 20i for comparison.

As a daily driver a 28i has a considerable lower cost of ownership, and buy what is right for you.

However 28i will out handle an 35i, and if you have one modified - it will leave it for dust :fuelfire: :rofl:
