However 28i will out handle an 35i, and if you have one modified - it will leave it for dust :fuelfire:
But then what happens when the 35i is modified
Then it might JUST be able to keep up with me then

That's oh so true - they are all limited to 155mph and swmbo squeals long before that !
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

It compensates for the additional 100kg of weight you're carrying :poke:

Only in a straight line Keith, it will definitely hinder the cars performance when cornering :poke:

True, Rob, true. But not enough for a 4-potter to catch up.

That depends on the twistiness of the road!
Also, If the road was long enough, you would hit the speed limiter & a mapped car could catch & overtake you :P

These conversations could go on your weeks on end,

From my personal experience,

My 28i vs 35i:
35i would have the legs over 70 mph - driver will be the biggest influence
28i will have significant advantage on handling - however driver will be the key influence

My 28i vs 35i modified: (dependant on the level of mods)
35i would have the legs over 70 mph -

My 28i vs 35is
On paper, the 35is should always keep ahead - but driver will be the key factor

I am unable to find any laptimes a 35i or 35is has gone around donnington - driven by a none professional driver

Would I upgrade to an 35i NO - but seriously thinking about upgrading to an 35is

The conclusion is - as its been said before - driver is the key factor in this conversation not the car.

Only comparison I can give - based on both cars been used on the same day, buy unprofessional drivers was at BMW Show 2014
Fastest Z4 35is @ 13.75 (Stock)
Mine Z4 28i@ 13.82
However on a different day I did 13.57 Secs

35iS is 335bhp stock.

however, the size of the brakes impresses. The front calipers are huge. It also has uprated springs and dampers, is 10mm lower than other E89s and has adaptive suspension. 8)
Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?

Yes - test drive an 35i or 35is - as they sound sweet
Then - test drive a 28i if you can find one or an 20i for comparison.

As a daily driver a 28i has a considerable lower cost of ownership, and buy what is right for you.

However 28i will out handle an 35i, and if you have one modified - it will leave it for dust :fuelfire:
Owned both and I know which one is the best in all departments :poke:

I think I can guess!

My Zed history is all 3.0l six, E85 , E89 now E89 35is. and I think it has been progression all the way.
I had every opportunity at the last change (sept '16) but couldnt find a reason on paper to go to a 2.0l four derivative and I didn't know anybody with a car to try - it's not the same as a dealer test drive is it ?
