Tail light condensation

Post by flybobbie » Mon Feb 06, 2017 6:56 pm

Interestingly I walked past the zed that made me aware of the model today.
I noted both of the tail lights had a lot of condensation in them.
Good mind to drop a note on this chaps car and tell him to look here on this site to solve the problem.
Funnily I think he works for a Fiat dealer, we pass most days going to work, anyone here DY8 post code?
The Fiat sport car that looks like a mini F type doesn't look bad.

Tail light condensation

Noticed a lot of water in the tail light when my blinker went crazy. After drying the tail light with hairdryer everything he was fine. Sealing in the tail light was my problem so check them out for leaks.

Tail light condensation

If I'm not mistaken, this is a common problem with LED rears as they don't produce the amount of heat a convention bulb does so more chance of condensation occuring.

Some LED rear lights have breathable membrane seals the help ventilate the lens.

Also when I took the old units off the car I noticed that the seal had gone around the lower portion this being the problem, the new units are an upgraded version so should be better.Rear indicators much brighter.Worth the money and effort to change them.
Have a nice day.

This has prompted me to look at mine, this is passenger rear side (Driver side was ok)
Booking to the dealer I think since I got couple more months left of my AUC warranty...

Hi your photos look pretty bad, mine were not as bad but so glad I had the news ones fitted by a friend ,took him about 20 minutes a side,a lot of fiddling with roof up and down to get to the fittings but well worth it now ,rear lights so bright.
