Sound generator modification - possible?

Post by crustyclown777 » Mon Mar 06, 2017 9:59 pm

Hi guys!
After my e86 without the foam in the sound generator modification, my e89 doesn't have that engine tone in the cabin.

Is there any mod that is similar?

I have the 35i.

Seriously ? I'd take that exhaust roar over fake induction noise every single time.

It's not really fake though as it's just routing some of the noise from the engine bay into the cabin......it's when manufacturers have fake engine noise coming through the speakers that is really lame
Don't wish it was easier, wish you were better

I agree, the pops and bangs out the back are great. BUT in the cabin of my e86 it was great when you put your foot down, you got good feedback from the engine notes.

so i guess there is no sound generator mod that we can do to our e89's. unless i cut a hole through the bulk head.

Strap a 5hp petrol generator to the passenger seat, that'll give you all the noise you want....

I'll stick with the straight six 3.0 twin turbo sound generator I think. Speaker or tube from an air box it's a way of introducing noise into the cabin that should be coming from the exhaust and that's my definition of fake noise.

I'm sure there's a cabin filter you could remove to get more noise in to the cabin or sound deadening to remove or fit an open cone induction kit.
