Please tell me I am not alone!

Had someone come up to me at work to ask if I realised my roof was down, was up when I parked :? Turns out I sit close enough to the car while in the office and key had been pressed in my pocket. Thankfully it remained dry else I don't think I would be happpy.

Has anyone else experienced something similar and if so, were you as lucky

thankfully my e86's receiver works from like 4 meters max xD

my mazda 3 tho is annoying, I can be sitting at home and car can be other side of the road and it still can be unlocked with a press of a button, and the remote is super easy to press.

it does lock again after 30s but I'd rather it didnt unlock at all.

I remember seeing a thread on here about doorbells or similar being able to spring the door locks / roof into life... Can't say I have Ever had this happen to me though. You'd like to think the frequency was way out from general household electronics.

Only saying because as Buckz said, my fob has to be super close to do anything let alone put the top down. Sometimes I struggle to keep the unlock button pressed long enough to put the roof all the way down when I mean to :?

Strangely, if I'm walking to the car, I have to be within a few meters for it to unlock. However, I'm about 25m from the car when I'm at my desk :headbang:

Works even better with smarttop. Just a few seconds will lower or put up the roof in its entirety. Probably cutting off someone's fingers in the process as they try and stop it physically.

Ha, think that would be dangerous in the work carpark! People thinking the car has a mind of it's own and myself being completley unaware. Keys will remain off my person from now on

I find I can increase the range of the fob if I stand next to a mesh fence. Then I can operate the alarm and roof from some distance.

Apparently you can extend the range by putting the fob on your temple and opening your mouth..it acts like a beam guide...honest :D

Did I read about dealers updating the software (removing the comfort access) to make the car more secure from theives? Or am I imagining it? Has your car not had the update?

Someone please tell me I'm talking nonsense! Lol

just leave the roof tray up in the boot when leaving in a car park, then this can never happen.
Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?
