Had someone come up to me at work to ask if I realised my roof was down, was up when I parked Turns out I sit close enough to the car while in the office and key had been pressed in my pocket. Thankfully it remained dry else I don't think I would be happpy.
Has anyone else experienced something similar and if so, were you as lucky

I thought you had to be with 1m of the car to remotely put the roof down?

No, mine works 25 metres or more.
Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?

This is just the same as the press to open the boot in a BMW saloon car.

Funny you mention that, as my remote often sets off the door bell, which would get the dog barking and running to the door to see who it was. After a while he learned to look at us first, and if we didn't move, he wouldn't be arsed getting out of his bed eitherSilverzedtom wrote:I remember seeing a thread on here about doorbells or similar being able to spring the door locks / roof into life... Can't say I have Ever had this happen to me though. You'd like to think the frequency was way out from general household electronics.
Only saying because as Buckz said, my fob has to be super close to do anything let alone put the top down. Sometimes I struggle to keep the unlock button pressed long enough to put the roof all the way down when I mean to

There's an open boot symbol on bottom of the fob:Vonlipvig wrote:I knew it can work off the key, use it sometimes, this was by pure accident while in my pocketronk wrote:This is just the same as the press to open the boot in a BMW saloon car.

One press and the boot pops open - so its an easy in the pocket accidental mistake - if the car is within range but out of sight it would be a security risk.
