You already have this feature on the e89 though?

You can do this with Carly though can't you? Just a simple recode?

can't do it whilst in motion can you? I thought this could only be done with the smart top?

I haven't tried yet but the option is there in the recode and a few of the guys on the forum here said it definitely does recode it to be able to raise/lower the roof whilst in motion.
Having not tried it myself though I can't 100% backup the claim. Maybe I'll be in for a surprise when I try it and it doesn't work!!
If there's still a question mark over it when I'm back with my car later this week then I'll give it a go and post up the results

It's an option in Carly. Have coded it and waiting to find out if it actually works when my hardtop comes off in a few weeks.....
May be in for a disappointment as there seems to be speculation here about whether it works or not.
Will post result in due course...

Hi Chris. Thanks - sounds like (and from looking at your sig) you're talking about an E85, not an E89 though?

Yep, however Carly covers all BMW's. You will ofc need to check if compatible via the http://www.mycarly.com/product/bmw-app/ website....danregs wrote:Hi Chris. Thanks - sounds like (and from looking at your sig) you're talking about an E85, not an E89 though?

Thanks Chris.
I just meant that no doubt the roof control modules will be different between the 85 and the 89, with different CAN addresses and changeable parameters! So it could easily allow changes on an 85, but not 89... and vice versa.
I'm loving my Carly so far though! But that's because I love fiddling with things that probably don't need changing!!

My e89 definitely allows me to raise and lower the roof whilst driving, up to 25mph I think.

Ive coded my E89 with Carly. It offered two speeds I think, something like 30kmh and 50kmh, as a limit for being able to open the roof while on the move. Ive got a 2010 modeldanregs wrote:Thanks Chris.

It might be worth adding if you can use the fob to close the roof system as well - Currently the Smarttop Module seems to be the only way.Marius wrote:I offer that foc for all my customers as it only takes 5minclarker63 wrote:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E64-E86-E ... SwfVpYnHf-
