Rim Protectors

Post by GBZ4 » Mon Mar 27, 2017 9:54 am

Hi the collective wisdom.

I've seen 'rim protectors' advertised and would like to get first hand knowledge as to wether they are worth it.

Do they actually protect the rim?

Thanks :)

Cant comment on how good they are but personally I think they look terrible.
They don't seem particularly cheap and the good ones need the tyre removed to fit as far as I know, so that's an extra cost to fit.
I reckon if they get kerbed they will look worse than a kerbed wheel and then there is the cost to get new ones.
Probably better off being more careful and if the worst happens just get the wheel refurbed.

I think I'll take your advice and be more careful :hattip:

I have alligators fitted to mine - protect and suttle

And these do work unlike rim blades
