Anyone using 265/35 rear and 235/40 front tyres on 19's 326M?
I'm thinking of getting new tyres and currently deciding between Micchelin PSS or PS4 S or the Vredestein Ultrac Satin but not sure which size to go for.
I've done some reading but it looks like not many E89 owners have tried the size I am after 265/35R19 rear and 235/40R19 front on a M Sport suspension.
I'm hoping to get a softer ride from the higher profile and bit more grip from the width.
My worries at the moment are will these rub either on the front or the rear and will they fit the standard 326M alloys which are 9Jx19 ET40 rear and 8Jx19 ET29 front.
Also if anyone can recommend a good Hunter garage anywhere near Loughton that would be great. Please don't say Protyre in Enfield as the mechanic there doesn't know how to fine tune and they don't seems to put weights in the car either.

I have 295 on my rear and 235 on the front. No rubbing.
The 40 profile on the front may be an issue.

I'm following this!
I personally think the car looks stupid with the profile on the tyres, standard tyres are 225/35 and 255/30 aren't they? I was looking at 235/35 and 265/35, I know this wiill probably make the rears slightly larger in terms of total rolling radius but not a lot??

I am about to get some also for a new set of alloys 255 35 19 Rear & 225 35 19 Front for non sport suspension. As suggested by Mr Wilks thanks

I am also watching with interest. I bought my 35i new last year and once I had driven it home (15 miles), I took off the 19-inch 326 wheels and RFT and replaced them with 19-inch 313 wheels with Eagle F1 rubber.
So, giving front 19/8.0 ET37 235/35 and rear 19/9.0 ET39 265/30 with no issues.
I was thinking that rather than have a set of virtually new OEM 326 wheels with OEM run flat tyres sitting in my garage, I could fit some nice non-runflats with deeper sidewalls and sell the OEM 19/225/35 & 19/255/30 tyres with 8mm tread all round to recoup a little of my outlay.

Ok, seems like I'm not alone in this
Can someone with the right knowledge about rolling radius and aspect ratios explain if we can or can't go with the same 35 profile front and back and what are the pros and cons.
@SteveSmith, I agree the car looks like it can easily take a little bit taller and fatter tyres with no issue but I might be wrong.
My car is used as a GT cruiser for nice long Eurotrips (5K-6K miles) maybe once a year which is where I need the softer sidewalls and in the meantime as a weekend treat which might involve some spirited driving which is where I need more grip on the front.

235 40 19 fronts on a 8j rim is a bit rash imo , go 235 35 or 225 40 but not 235 40
Rears i would be going 255 35 19 or if you prefer 265 30 but again 265 35 on a 9j rim is a step too far imo

Anyone using 265/35 rear and 235/40 front tyres on 19's 326M?
Thanks Mr Wilks I've seen your comments on other posts but was thinking mine's different
I came across these two sites:
https://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/ty ... dvice.html
http://www.etyres.co.uk/how-to-change-your-tyre-size/
and thought someone on here might have tried the maximum possible tyre width on 8 and 9 inch alloys just like my 326s and on the M Sport suspension and will be able to share some thoughts.
Looking at the second site it shows that 255/30-->265/30 change is just 6mm bigger in total diameter and in 255/30-->265/35 the difference is 32mm and it is a similar story for the fronts where 225/35-->235/35 is 7mm bigger and 225/35-->235/40 is 31mm
What will be the impact if I would go for the 265/35 rear and 235/35 front?

This is the MPSS tyre setup I run with 326 alloys so keen to learn of any dangers too...What will be the impact if I would go for the 265/35 rear and 235/35 front?

Hi Andy, not sure why you think that it's a step too far? 5mm nearer the suspension, 5mm sticking out further and filling out the wheel arch by 16mm seems not to bad to me as there's plenty of room on an E89's wheel arch? [Similar results on fronts going to 19/235/40]

No other reason than a 245 or 255 width tyre is optimum fitment for a 9j rim , yes you can go 265 but to also increase the profile as well to 35 i think you are heading into a " balloony " look & cracking on it won't enhance performance or handling eitherDavid-H wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2017 10:22 amHi Andy, not sure why you think that it's a step too far? 5mm nearer the suspension, 5mm sticking out further and filling out the wheel arch by 16mm seems not to bad to me as there's plenty of room on an E89's wheel arch?
