I think that may be the change-over year when the tpms started to be situated inside the wheel itself?

Im not familiar with them, but guess you have to remove them from your wheels & fix them inside the new ones before the tires are fitted? :?

I wouldn't feel happy swapping the tpms units onto new rims - I assume you mean for your winter wheels and tyres?
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

I have a feeling the changeover point was around April 2014?

OP, you need to know in which month your car was built. New sensors can be bought to go in your new wheels if you need them. Budget £150 to £180 for a set of four.

Are these like a modified valve stem.? Are these the sort that are wireless. What a drag it adds even more cost to a winter set of wheels with tyres.

It does add more cost - I have them in my winter wheels. However, it was far simpler to purchase the sensors with the wheels than remove them from the summer wheels. The new sensors were electronically matched to the existing, which was a simple process.

Great... so for a winter set up I can source a set of 18" non staggered aftermarket wheels and go for 225/45/18 all round using something like ....
https://www.tpmswarehouse.co.uk/Schrader-Ez-Sensor-TPMS ? Then the idrive system will sort out the TPMS?

The sensors in my winters came from tyresure.com ... T-Pro1 with serial number TYR-S168.
