E89 Z4 middle console lid
The middle console lid has two very small gears that clip on to the sides of the lid. It ensures the lid opens and closes smoothly. One of these gears is broken on my Z4. The local BMW dealer says the gears are not sold separately. Does anyone have an extra i can buy or know where I can buy one? Thanks!

Is there someone that could make one using a 3d printer.
I know at Coalbrookedale Telford at the Innovation museum there's as sort of DIY 3D printer area with helpers.
I does seem silly the gears are visible and therefore could jam with grit and get damaged.

Hmmm...never heard of this flybobbie. I'm in the U.S....Virginia. So far, I have not found anyone selling the small gear (cog). I'm actively searching.

Mine fell apart, Bob. There are two pins inside the springs. The pins come out through the inside hole of each hinge. Likely, one of your pins came out causing the armrest to wobble. Unfortunately, there must be few folks with z4s as I've received very few responses. Or, it may be few z4 owners use this site.

Which lid are you talking about, would be the soft open ashtray lid?

Its the main armrest lid.
Ours has a problem at one side and it seems that there is a pin that doesn't seem to be in correctly and the lid wobbles a bit when open.
Still trying to work out the best way to get into it without damaging anything.
