What changes are folk making to the service intervals for Modded E89's? This has to effect the engine wear.

I dont do that much mileage. I will do extra oil changes. Perhaps every 5-6 k .

Depends how you drive it as well, most maps only go a little over the 28i output & that has the same service intervals as the 18i :?
I'd carry out a yearly oil change which with my use would put it at about 8k & change the plugs every 20k.
Only 4 of them so won't break the bank :poke:

Well I change my oil every 6k-8K - although had a nightmare doing this.

The guarage who did oil change, and reset the service intervial - so when it went in for an major service at BWM - chanage spark plugs - the key said it was not due for another 10k miles (and since i had a service pack - they will not authorise the work) - so had a right argument with the service desk.

Got it sorted

I've now decided against mapping my 28i.

Reason being is I don't trust any of the tuners.

I've seen so many tuners take a car that was mapped elsewhere and show how dangerously they've been mapped i just don't want to risk it.

I trust a number of VAG tuners and a couple who tune Mini's but I don't know enough about BMW tuners and I don't think anyone knows enough about the N20 engines. The majority of development and knowledge seems to be on the 3.0 turbo engine.

These piggy back boxes can't be vehicle specific. I just can't believe a small company can produce an individual tuning box for so many different cars! It's obviously just a trick to the ECU asking for 10% more of everything.

I hope everyone tuning the N20 has no issues, if I had an 18i or 20i I'd probably go for it, but the 28i seems quick enough and I'll wait for an M4 to get my boost in power!
28i M Sport - Alpine White / Canberra Beige, 19" M359’s, H&R’s / Eibachs, BMS Stage 1 - 271bhp, Front Splitter, CF Rear Lip, Alcantara Steering Wheel and Brembo 4 pots
