Tyre size 255/35 19 OK to fit?

Post by Zikim » Tue May 09, 2017 8:31 am

I'm getting rid of the dreaded run-flat tyres that came with my zed and looking to fit 255/35 19 tyres instead of the specified 255/30 19 on the rear, will this be ok?

Reasons for this is to minimise the dreaded cracked alloy wheel issue and slightly less crashy ride. Will there be any downsides, will the grip be less?

Had Goodyear Asymmetric F1's on my previous E85 and liked them but looking for a change, any recommendations for grip in both the dry and wet? I'm like the look of Yokohama's AD08's :P anyone fitted these to their zed?

One thing mentioned to me when looking at wheel options is check the TPMS. older systems measure rolling radius and if this changes can give false readings. Newer systems work on pressure drop and wont be an issue.

I could be wrong, as I was just told this when discussing my wheels with some one so would be interested to hear if thats true from better informed people of the forum. :?
