3 wrap questions
From another thread ...
1 How do you "take care" of a wrap?
3 How does it deteriorate? Blisters? Cracks? Colour?
2 How do you remove one?

Cant answer all your questions but from interior parts that I have wrapped myself I have noticed over the few years that the vinyl shrinks a bit and some of the parts where the wrap was stretched has come unstuck slightly.

Short and sweet version
Wash regularly.
Store in garage / shade
Use reccomended shampoos
2. Take it to a professional to be removed. I believe they use heat to take it off

Thank you very much. A wrap's becoming less attractive post by post.

with some care and a hairdrier they come off pretty readily if only on for a year or two - and I know it's fine, but it just doesn't sit well with me on anything where I want to preserve the paint beneath..
I'm going to be wrapping a supra and two old mercs shortly but the paint underneath is far from decent!

I see the wrap as an expensive bit of fun!
For £1,400 I get to change the colour of the car for three years or longer, the paint should be fine and may even be in better condition than it would have been if left without the wrap.
Resprays always leave people suspicious that it hides something and they cost £4-5k for a decent one. Three years on there will be stone chips and scrapes on that paintwork too.
Plenty of top end motors getting wrapped.

Reading the whole thread again, a wrap seems to be £1,400 for 5 years of quite high maintenance, when you then have to pay to have it taken off and start again.

My wrap is worth every penny, besides the Total change of color, i had a minor damage (parking error) but the paint underneath the wrap was 100% fine. Now it was £350 to fix the dents & add a new wrap on the panel with the side lights. Without the wrap i think it would be a 1000£ respray.
Just wash it every week (mine is a daily driver & outside sleeper) and the wrap Will be fine. Have mine on for almost a year now but totaly No faded Colors conpared to the piece that is replaced recently.

good to hear that Vester86, looking forward to getting it done and having a near unique BMW colour on my car.
Do you wash the car by hand only? No pressure washer? Do you use specific products for wraps?

Always a washing box with a medium pressure washer, but not too close (50cm\2ft). No special products, just what the company uses
