Hi Guys,
So i have been researching this topic for a while and reading many posts, but i couldn't find anything too recent.

Firstly, I'm really tempted to purchase the ESS Remap, the torque and hp gains look too tempting!

Any experiences on the forum with ESS? i prefer the idea of it over the JB4, but am i discounting the better remap provider?

Or is it a waste of money, and won't provide me with noticeable gains apart from in my bank account?

Secondly are there better remap options situated in the UK that are trusted on the forum that would be better suited?

btw, i have a 35i (N54 engine)

Thanks!

Not at all. I attempted to remap my car with a local firm and they bricked it. Still tempted by the idea of doing it myself so I can ensure I take the proper precautions. Only heard good things about ESS

I would recommend http://www.p-torque.co.uk/They have tuned many N20 engines. Really good gains with rolling road. And bespoke map for your car I believe. worth the journey.
My 28i mapped to 300.0 Bhp with 376 ft lbs of torque.

So only issue with third party remaps (and another good reason to go with ESS who provide the hardware for you to flash the car whenever you want so in believe) is they can get overwritten by dealer work. With your own kit you can reflash rather than travel to get it done again.
