Goodbye Zed

Post by rhodesey35iM » Sat May 20, 2017 8:27 pm

Well its finally the time to let the Zed go. We've had it longer than any other car (5 years) so thats an indication of the quality of it. We've been struggling really to decide what to go for. SLK.......just don't like Mercs, Boxster..............been in a friends and feels cramped plus what they want for them is silly, V8 Mustang......not sure it would corner the way we're used to...........etc etc.

In the end left us with 440i Msport and M240.Test drove a 430D today (not 440i as they didn't have one ready) just to see how it felt.........a little big if truth be told, but even so still very very nice.

In the end we've gone for the M240 and pick it up next weekend. It was in the dealers today in prep mode.

It does look a bit big doesn't it. In the metal, like most things looks a lot better...................still not as good looking as the zed though. We've had the lat 3 cars round the ring so we may have to change the holiday plans this summer to grab a couple of laps so we can earn our sticker  .

Well, we've done the swap anpicked up the M240i. Initially impressions are that its well put together, deceptiveley fast, comfortable and good looking in the metal. Really like the metallic grey as well.

The guys at Cooper Reading were very good during negotiation and the handover (very relaxed and no pressure).

Very nice looking motor, I'm sure you're going to enjoy it. I went for the 440i M Sport as my wife has a 220i convertible which is every bit as good, if not better, than my Zed. Have fun
