Today I realised how power corrupts.

In the Merc I drive nicely, in the Z like a lunatic.

Whilst I have never contemplated selling, I know what you mean. In the Discovery all is sedate; that's not always the case with the Zed! :)

Sold my 35is last year because it wasn't fast enough for me, even after serious power upgrade. Now have F type V8, sounds good but I would like more :D

Simple answer is no. :D

I will say the Zed is fast enough though. It's the first car I have ever owned that is faster that me. What I mean by that is, every other car I've owned, I have felt happy to drive the wheels off, without fear of ending up in a ditch. The Zed on the other hand demands respect. One reason I love it and would never by something tame now. (Well may be when I'm really old)

Only with motorbikes...sold my Aprilia Tuono because it just made me ride like a t**t...even though I had faster bikes in the garage there was something about that bike that turned you into an instant hooligan as soon as you opened the throttle :D
if its got tits or tyres..its trouble :D

nah.
my 3.0 M54 has a nice turn of speed when called upon but it's nothing compared to the mind-bending, ear-flapping accelleration of the ariel atom of days gone by.
happy to just pootle along these days... :driving:

I think it's the twin turbo torque and DCT shift cracks that make me floor it all over the place. In a matter of seconds I have to hit the brakes as I'm doing rather uncaring speed.

You must be doing something right if you have had it for 7+ years and still have your licence.
Pick your times and places for blasts and hope your not unlucky.

I've sold a few cars that I thought were a bit too fast for the road (honest)

Having now settled on a 3.0 zed it's probably ample and when you fancy some spirited fun you can keep your foot in too.. I find that has a certain charm over a very powerful car that demands that extra concentration and respect!

Both of our cars are quite fast (35is & 335xd) but because the potential is like a loaded gun - I just try to be sensible and try not get over enthusiastic.

Most cars these days are fast enough to get you banned for a while !
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

REALLY well said. I agree completely and could not have said it better.

So I won't attempt to.
