I've had a sDrive 23i auto for over a year and it's been a lovely car (got from Stratstone approved used for £15k) very similar to yours and it's quick enough for me. The alloys I had refurbished (all 4) recently for £350 as part of a detailing deal ...(normally £480 for 4) and where beautifully done (even the all bolts been refurbished) well I could always hunt down a 35is but missus won't be happy lol

Hi David, a couple of things to look for to try and knock the price down, calipers will definitely be rusty. They all do so hilight and you could get a reduction. If the discs are rusty or pitted possible get free replacement. The rears are the ones to go for as the electronic handbrake is a bugger for diy. Sooty or discoloured exhaust tips. Easy replacement as push on but at extra cost. I love my 23i be aware 30 mpg should be expected on all short journeys.

Great advice - thanks very much folks. I've be also looked at this private 30i MSport auto one (given your advice), which is close, and am hoping for some detail on service history. It's YH60HXG with 67k miles, asking £11.7k. Mot due in a month, but vendor will sort this apparently. Not sure how it compares with the 27k miles 23i auto from Stratstone for just a grand more...?

I just got a 2011 2.5 M Sport Auto and am loving it. I use it every day and I find the automatic very responsive. I do agree With Dr-Jon about the idrive though. I just bought the iPhone 7 adapter cradle and can now access and my complete music collection via the idrive which is so much better than fiddling around with CDs.

My money would be going on the 3.0i. I like the idrive and it was important to me and I like the Msport spec. The engines are good for 200k + miles so the mileage wouldn't bother me if the service checks out plus it's one owner and I think it's better value for money.... jmo :thumbsup:

Thanks all. Yes, it's the black 23i. It hasn't got the msport suspension (which I'm really quite pleased about) but does have the seats and steering wheel which I like.
