Shock as an E89 is lapped for the umpteenth time on the ring by a 50 year old alfa giulia!
Probably an underpowered 4-banger. The z4 that is :P
Ffwd to 1.22 for the slick manouvre.....

Those Giulia's are actually surprisingly fast and handle exceedingly well even for a 50 year old car, and particularly so if breathed upon by a keen Alfa restorer. Plus, didn't look like the Z was really trying that hard!

Was the zed stuck in first of something! If it went any slower you could of gone past him on your pedal bike Chris! :poke:

True!
I'm thinking poss his/her first ever lap there maybe tho?
I was the same and i think most whove been there have had exactly the same 'first ring lap' nerves. trying to stay on-track and outt of everyone's way. I was in an E46 M3 and corsa's were overtaking me
I'm just making excuses for them now- maybe he was just a timid b@stard who shouldnt be there in the first place :P

Silly comparison. And what about the pretty white Alfa Sprint. Brings back memories. Those cars ran in SCCA F class. They were a lot of fun and sounded nice. I had a Giulia spyder. I wish I still had it for tracking . Very safe, very predictable 1860 pounds and about 110 H.P. The ultimate in driving a slow car fast. 0-60 in 10 seconds for the Veloce with the twin webers. 7500 RPM twin cam with good drum brakes. Noted a number of late fifties 300SLs also. Very beautiful low production cars did well in the Mille Miglia. 0-60 in the 7+ seconds. Tubular space frame but tricky snap oversteer. Skinny tires.
In good hands the E89 would and should blow the doors off of them without trying, but it is different now.

Probably on the phone to his mechanic, asking if there were any more ponies available back at the stables.
