E89 Tyres profile upgrade
I'm booked in this afternoon for a set of Uniroyal Rainsport 3's in 235/35 19 and 255/35 19 so I hope I don't get any rubbing!
Maybe the tyres you went for are quite square?

To be honest the rubbing is minimal, I have decided to keep them on as the ride is much more comfy now.SteveSmith wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2017 10:39 am I'm booked in this afternoon for a set of Uniroyal Rainsport 3's in 235/35 19 and 255/35 19 so I hope I don't get any rubbing!

Are you sure you going for a 35 profile on both front & rear ?? I wanted to do the same and was advised against it -Apparently it would confuse your traction control.
Let us know how you get on

I'm going up to 235 wide on the front, so keeping the profile the same will still increase it due to the width being more.benv6 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2017 10:44 amTo be honest the rubbing is minimal, I have decided to keep them on as the ride is much more comfy now.SteveSmith wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2017 10:39 am I'm booked in this afternoon for a set of Uniroyal Rainsport 3's in 235/35 19 and 255/35 19 so I hope I don't get any rubbing!

My uncles e46 M3 is running 235/35 and 255/35 so all will be well. I just hope it looks good!
Have you kept the same pressures?

Just had them fitted, only driven 5 miles but feels a lot different already! So much more comfortable.
I went for Uniroyal Rainsport 3's in 235/35 19 and 255/35 19... it looks some much better as well. The rubber bands on the rear looked stupid in my opinion and he 225 fronts looked almost stretched.
It seems to sit nicer as well, I'm definitely interested in some Eibach springs now as I'm not worried about making it too harsh.

Have you noticed a bit more roll on initial turn in? Maybe it's in my head but it's doesn't feel as direct. I'm seriously considering some Eibach springs to firm it up again.

Kumhos are made by teflon mate, be carefulbenv6 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2017 12:22 pm UPDATE !!
I have finally changed my tyres and upgraded the profile going by advice from this forum
I went for the Kumhos front: 225/40/19 rear 255/35/19. £377 from TyreLeadyer and not a bad deal at all !!
Unfortunate, when steering to the left, the front OS Tyre rubs against the inside plastic panel. there is a kind of plastic grill.
And to be fair it didn't make much of a difference compared to the RFTs, though it is still early stages to notice any difference.
Getting of the RFTs made a huge difference on my previous e85 but I never complained about the e89.
The rubbing is minimal to be honest but it is annoying when locking the steering wheel to the the left.
I guess I will be few quids down getting a new set of tyres now, the Kumhos will be up for sale
I will post some pics later on today !

Best choice in Michelin Pilot Sport 4, top of all performance tyre reviews 2017.
I have fitted them al round, the difference is substantial, quieter, fabulous cornerinq and A rated wet grip.......
In addition they have a new high mileage compound, looking out the window, the car is sat in the rain and the tyres repel it and are bone dry, interesting....

235 on front 8j style 326 is not going to help the roll feel , you could drop to 215 on that rim width to tighten things up with a 40 profile ?SteveSmith wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2017 7:01 am Have you noticed a bit more roll on initial turn in? There are so many differentials here that no exact spec numbers can be said to be the perfect ones whether E85 or E89
Within this post other owners have mentioned arch rub ?
Rim width / offset / suspension & even tyre condition being brand new on full tread as opposed to possible 4mm worn ? (Uni RS3s measure close to 9mm )

I've recently changed the RFT's on my 35i and went for Vredestein Ultra's with 255-35 rear and 225-35 fronts. They are really good compared to the standard RFT. I have the adaptive suspension and no rubbing at all. The car is tuned producing 520nm of torque and around 390 bhp and these tyres handle the power very well wet or dry. Well recommended set up.
BMW Z4 e89 35i white, black roof, 296 wheels emap to 390 BHP and running Vredestein Ultras. Second cat delete and straight through pipes.
