Wind Deflector Brackets

Post by mcbutler » Thu Jul 20, 2017 10:01 am

Hi All,

Well, I have been GIVEN a brand new wind deflector in its bag (warm feeling inside).

I went to BMW yesterday to buy the modified hoop covers (surprisingly well priced, warm feeling inside) and the fitting brackets.
Only to be told that the brackets are only available with the actual deflector for a few hundred quid (warm feeling quickly dissipates).

So, does anyone know where I can get brackets? I have searched Ebay, - gumtree etc.

Does anyone have a car with a damaged deflector they are not intending to replace?
I could give you my hoop covers in exchange for your fittings with a cash top up....

Thanks everyone...

Most cars with deflectors also have a 2nd set of brackets under the boot lid for storage. These will also fit on the hoops, so you may be able to acquire a set of these without necessarily depriving somebody of the use of the hoop set. Try a breaker ?

On an e89? Not noticed any under-boot brackets on mine, it came with a storage bag I throw in the boot :(

Under boot on E85 only. E89 fitting kits (with the deflector itself) on ebay normally. A guy in the north mids I think.
Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?

After using the RealOEM website I obtained the brackets from BMW by simply calling them and giving them the part numbers. By-passing the chump on the counter.
