I see - it was more a case of the piss-poor service from BMW when there was a fault, rather than the fault itself.
Thanks.

Consumer Rights Act 2015
Reasonable Care an Skill

Ie. They didn't demonstrate reasonable care and skill when they installed the kit.

Think I'd rather stick to my independent Garmin sat nav, just drove from Norwich to Italy without issues.
Poor service from BMW though, must be very annoying

To be fair to my local BMW dealer, they are now jumping thro hoops to correct the problem. As it's been previously documented as a problem by BMW the tech dept is involved .

To date they have now moved the dash cam antennae and wrapped the cable with a foil screening tape and it all seems to be working again.

No matter what happens in the UK I will be taking my old TomTom sat nav as a back up next Euro trip.

Yes I am also an independent sat nav user never had issues, and if it did go wrong very quick and low cost to replace.

I've never had any problems with integrated systems before - I don't like wires all over and from previous experience when I have had a car without sat nav, I've usually forgotten it when it was really needed.

My wife's Honda has a built in sat nav that uses Garmin software and maps, what software does the BMW system use ?
