Bmw Z4 E89 Roof issue

Post by a11ftk » Wed Aug 09, 2017 1:17 pm

Hi all just want to let everyone on forum know i had a problem with the roof operation on my Z it kept stopping and on the screen
saying Roof movement impaired . I would have take my finger off button and then press again and it eventually open and then would
happen again on closing .

So i looked on here and came across a few problems and threads and contacted Dietcokeman also know as Bryan who happened to be only 30mins away .

So i went to his house and he took a look and diagnosed the problem to be a hall sensor (of which there is 7 located in the boot i believe )
luckily the first one we looked at appeared damaged so he replaced it and problem solved .

I would just like to say what a jolly nice fellow he is and a great help and if anyone else has a similar issue with your roof i am sure he could help you.

Thanks

Ifti

Bryan's a helpful guy :) Was your hall sensor cracked the same as the one he found on his e89?
