Done that before its easier to get the one man bleed kit lol

You still need a short length of clear hose so you can see if all the air has gone

Great thread, cant believe ive come across it. I too have been practicing smooth changing the gears in my Z4 and still after 2 weeks are struggling to get it nice and smooth. Im going to contact that Pete in Telford (Autotech) I think and get me booked in for this CDV removal and get him to code the remote roof at the same time :-)

Holy crap! How much have people been quotes for a CDV from their dealer? I noted in post 1 that there was a quote for £8 plus vat for srhutch. I just got quoted by a really reputable dealer for £50 odd quid! Hutch could you shed any light? Cheers all!

Anyone got a picture of the bleed nipple? So if I step on the clutch a few times until I get a dribble of oil out of the nipple prsumably that's the system bleed?
This is the only bit I'm not sure on

I'm another convert - being new to the Z4, I had no idea why 1st to 2nd was quite so notchy... and why the car wasn't too co-operative changing down the box... but this has fixed it completely!

I went for the straight removal option - no issues with hose reach on a 3.0L engine - but bleeding was an absolute pain in the rear due to the location of the bleed nipple. Make sure you've got a small enough spanner before you start - I think it must be a 6mm? (I had to use a tiny adjustable!)

I added a braided hose while I was in their removing the Valve. I notice a small difference but nothing massive imo .

How to modify your CDV (Clutch Delay Valve)

Im maby planing to remove mine CDV but im a bit questioning...

BMW have put it there for a reason, what reason is that?
Dont think they put it there to make the drive experiance worse!
Will removing the CDV have Any negative effekt to the Clutch or the gearbox in the long run?

Iirc it's to save the gearbox/clutch if you keep dumping the clutch
