BMW have put it there for a reason, what reason is that?
Dont think they put it there to make the drive experiance worse!
Will removing the CDV have Any negative effekt to the Clutch or the gearbox in the long run?
If you find you can set off in 1st gear without kangerooing,I would not bother doing it.
It depends on your driving technique wether you see a big improvement .

It's also the change into 2nd that improves. If it's a non ///M I would be surprised if you didn't notice a real improvement with it removed.

The CDV prevents shock to the drivetrain if you dump the clutch. If you drive the car with respect and treat as you should you don't have shy issues, and have never heard of anybody having issues after removing.

Good morning folks!

I appreciate I'm a bit late to the party!

But this is something I need to do! Does anyone have anyone they can recommend local to Bedford? Or a member who could do it for beer tokens!

Thanks in advance!

Just done mine. It really is an easy fix. You just need 2x 17mm spanners, 1x11mm spanner and a pair of molegrips to clamp off the clutch fluid pipe.

Other than that once the car is up on ramps you just crawl underneath and crack on. 10 minutes later you’ll be done. Didn’t even lose any clutch fluid.

Clutch feels better now. After letting it out it engages much faster which is way better when you’re trying to accelerate through the gears.
