any idea why can't it be done on pre-facelift cars? different stalk or programmed differently?

I just ordered one of these as well - hopefully they are applicable to US cars?
Alpine white Z4 3.0i, Dream red leather, M-sport seats, suspension, Xenons, Hot seats, Prem. sound, XM Radio, Aux in, Strut brace, Black grill, CF Roundels, Stubby, Half foam, MM Tips.

I don't know to be honest, all I do know is some members with face lift have been told by dealers it can't be done. Mines an early 06 so will have to wait and see.

If it works and your near Norwich I will be happy to try for you next time I'm that way.

Mine works - just did it myself. Seems strange that some facelifts do and some don't.
Now having the Sport button on by default would be good.
