Retrofit cupholders

Fitted mine this evening and made a new how-to in a printable A4 PDF form here:

Oooh, you've got a bit of nasty scratching by your rubber grommet!

I just bought spare grommets at the same time and then removed the original with a pair of tweezers.

I'm missing a grommet... where did you get them from?

Must be one of the easiest 'mods' to do :)

Yeah :( Although you really can't see it when they're back in place (trusty macro lens bought it up nicely though). Tweezers are a great idea in hindsight!!

Nice write-up. Fitted mine this evening. I too have a slight mark on my grommet!! Hidden it though! :P

Having just fitted mine this morning, I wish I'd read this better first and ordered the rubber grommets at the same time as the cupholders. They were hard to get off without damaging them so will be ordering some replacements soon. I used jamesdeans guide and it was very helpful - thanks!

Mods so far : 3" stubby ariel, chrome exhaust tips, de-badging, clear side indicators, CDV delete, cruise, clear 3rd brake light, cup-holders, Z4M alloys. Sadly now gone!

Why would anyone want to install these useless cupholders. All North American Z4s are equipped with cupholders. Maybe we should organize a cupholder exchange program between the Colonies and GB. You send us your blanking plates and we'll send you our useless cupholders :thumbsup:

How about we send you European-sized beverage receptacles to replace the gallon buckets you seem to use for coffee :P

thanks for the detail this is great - it only taked 5 mins a side with the info to hand!

Link appears to be broken. Am using mac safari or firefox but page will not appear. Is it just me ?
