Found the thread last night, have just done the mod this morning, little bit fiddly trying to hold the terminal and a link wire on your own to solder, but got there in the finish, such a great simple mod.

Thanx

With these SCOTCHLOK's i take it, it doesnt matter what type as in there are some that has 5amp on them, some have 15amp on them etc
Is there any specific one to use or not really?

Yesterday I followed a new Vauxhall Insignia.

Has anyone else noted their 'hard braking' flashing brake light mode?

When they brake hard, they all three flash.

I saw this as an update to the BMW full circle goal but more obvious to a following car without looking up any car manual before rear ending them!

Regards

ok, this might sound really obvious, but as i have no soldering 'tools' as it were, can this still be done ? a list of parts would be appreciated, and apologies if i have missed this in the 5 pages fo this thread.

I managed to install my aux cable with no issues at all, and replace my under bonnet alarm sensor, so im guessing this is a doddle right ?

If you don't want to use solder and that's fine on things like this I suggest any scotch connector. Search on ebay. Since they simply splice the original wire and add the new link, then removal is a clean process. Can't say I'd go with Laziomonsters solution of using 240v domestic connectors, although of course it will work.

3 amp, 12 volt, automotive connectors. And my hard work was double checked by an experienced automotive electrician :P
Ah well the one in the picture you posted looks pretty much like a standard 12 block of domestic connectors, not like the 6 pack of Halfords connectors. That said, I stand corrected
