O2 sensor socket adapter and socket set?

Post by Izice » Sun May 01, 2016 1:17 pm

Does anyone know the correct size of the socket adapter for the lambda probe removal on the bmw z4m.

Is it a 22mm?

Any good socket sets with extensions / swivel to get the awkward problematic sods out?

Any advice welcome as i'm probably going to get used to changing my own soon.

Yea...

22mm..

You can buy various kits from various toolmakers. Try and buy the best your budget will allow, the very nature of the socket and how it works means it will splay when used...So better quality the better..

We have a kit off a company called Sudorf, and its excellent.

I bought this from ebay, worked well on my sons Fiesta and handy with the cut to protect the lead to the sensor.

Just be careful because they are very tight and will normally have rusted in. I ended up getting a 2nd hand manifold on a Saxo I had because it just wouldn't budge and then snapped off.

Is there a bracket in the way on the M too (for bulkhead side Lambda)?

If so I just took it out but needed to get under the car and have an assistant. I got Draper 22mm socket No.55540 for the job and had no dramas.
