Pooling water on rear boot window E86

Post by LewisB » Mon Feb 27, 2017 8:35 pm

On the last few occasions after it's rained I've noticed some pooling of water on one side of my Zed.

I thought I might just have an uneven driveway. However, when I parked outside a family members house (and it rained) I noticed the same issue.

Has anyone else experienced this? I worried it might mean a suspension issue......

Yip normal but if you are worried that it is always on one side just turn the car around on the same bit of road or driveway.

I haven't noticed anything yet, but I'm now prompted to give it a real close inspection.

Happens evenly on mine, on a flat driveway. I'd try and find somewhere level and see if it still happens, if so possible suspension issue.
Currently zedless :(

It's on the inside you need to inspect. Open the boot and look around the edges.

Mine does it on either side depending on the slope of wherever I have parked. I did briefly toy with the idea of drilling drainage holes but decided that would be a really stupid idea.

Oh yes, the E86 does seem to have been designed in such a way that the bottom of the tailgate glass is lower than the part of the tailgate that is behind it. But get up around (!?) the NSL and it all disappears!

E85 owners try to berate those of us with more sophisticated taste, but I'd rather provide some avian welfare than have a roof motor that should have been a submersible pump. :poke:

In one way it's assuring to here the problem is not unique to me. However, it's something to keep an eye on in the future
