Hi there I have a strange clattering rattle noise when I am in reverse and dip the clutch when reversing into a space or onto my drive way and on the way home tonight I noticed it happening when I change gear when driving normally, the clutch seems fine and it pulls strong with no slip or smell just wondered if this is a common thing or a expensive issue which I hope not a month before Xmas
Any help is appreciated
Matt.

I would guess Dual mass Flywheel as well. Had it on a focus , disappeared and reappeared a couple of time then just got worse. Common in modern cars apparently

thanks for the replies I'm currently on 85,000ish is this something that needs fixing or is it just signs of a older car that has loosened up over time

It'll just gradually get worse, and probably end up causing judder as you take up the drive. It won't fail catastrophically and leave you stranded.

I have the judder on the first few times I set off when I drive the car but goes away when warm I put it down to contamination of the clutch plate, at least it won't blow the clutch up I don't have the money to change the clutch and or DMF at the moment so ill have to live with it.Ducklakeview wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2017 9:28 pmIt'll just gradually get worse, and probably end up causing judder as you take up the drive.
