I have this image of loads of cars driving around with their arms up off the windscreen now as the cure for squeaky wipers lol

put the oil on the pivot and spring loops!

I wish I was as confident of the lottery numbers tonight.

Wiper squeak

Post by damian0797 » Sat Jan 07, 2017 10:57 am

I've had the same. The problem with mine was... one end of the spring hooks over the pivot pin in the arm. Over time it has wandered to one end, this has put the body of the spring against the inner side of the arm. So when it extends and contracts it scratches on the arm, reverberates down the blade and then is amplified by the windscreen.

Solution: a squire of WD (be careful where it goes, you don't want it on the blade or screen) and lever the spring back to the centre of the pivot.

£70 Saved - lesson learnt!
