Just to close the circle on this one if anybody gets the same problem, when I got down to it I found the hinge pins has worked loose hence the handle fell off.

It's a fiddle to re-assemble with the small spring. If like me you cant find a hinge pin, it's a thin scroll pin and has slipped back inside the hinge tube so is hidden from view, only discovered having hung upside down and searched the footwell / under seats with a magnet for AGES :headbang:

Still at least it's a zero cost repair.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but can anyone clarify for me if items 10 and 12 are required at both sides of the glove box? I have a 2007 Z4C and the hinges at both sides have completely snapped!

Don't worry about it, I'm not sure why people criticise old technical threads being resurrected, surely better to develop the info in one topic rather than keep re-inventing the wheel? ...........anyway,

The link in the 2nd post has a parts diagram and if you scroll down lists how many of each part is required (2 x part 10 and 1 x part 12) which appears to be the total required for the glovebox unit :thumbsup:
