I finally have the answer!
Our lazy cat Ralph has taken to sleeping on my soft top. About two weeks ago I had an idea whilst laying awake worrying about claw holes.
Having read that cats hate lemons and other citrus fruits I thought I'd try citrus screenwash and blasted the jets every time I parked so that the overspray would settle on the roof (and it completely covers it).
Two weeks later and not a cat hair, paw print or sighting to speak of. Brilliant!
Just thought I'd share in case anyone else has menacing cats in the vicinity.
Here he is sleeping where he should be the little toe rag:

Yes our white cat has a spell of sleeping on my roof and she sheds hairs all the time which I have to use a sticky roller to help got them off.
I'll have to give the screen wash ago, cheers

I have found an air rifle does the trick at least when the basta**s stray into our garden and menace the birds we enjoy feeding.

I find Ralph's pretty good at keeping the bird count down. Most welcomed here... they can't ruin a freshly polished and waxed car if they aren't there. Don't even get me started on roof stains.Mike6 wrote:I have found an air rifle does the trick at least when the basta**s stray into our garden and menace the birds we enjoy feeding.
Think I'll keep my sights on the pigeons!

you wouldn't want RickRob's hound chasing the cat over the roof either!
