S142 AND S145

Post by GT_Higgins » Mon Feb 27, 2017 1:31 am

Chaps and chapettes,

I've been reading this forum for two years, and because it's so good I haven't felt the need to post until now.

My roof has, typically, given up. However, it does not appear to be the motor but the hall switches in the roof. The error codes show that S142 and S145 are at fault.

My questions are: 1) Can I replace the senors as I can't find them listed on the OEM parts list, or do I need to replace the wiring sensor (P.N 54 34 7 056 280) and 2) How do I get to the lock? I have had my motor out, but haven't played with the roof itself. From the diagram I saw, I need to access it from the top of the roof no?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for that.
I've found everything except a part-number. The only thing I can find is the wiring harness for the roof, and not the hall switches. It latches under the central top motor, and runs to the skuttle.

S142 AND S145

For information, the part number from the oem is 54347056280, and is listed as a wiring harness.

It clips into a wiring harness above the center cowl lock, and the wires attach to the skuttle lock through a gap on the passenger side.

As of now, I have no idea how to remove the top-lining of the roof to access the skuttle lock, but accessing the central panel is easy.

S142 AND S145

Did you solve this issue?

I also have the same indication of S142 Skuttle Switch from running DIS. My top was down and got rained on a couple days earlier resulting in many electrical problems. I thought I had them all sorted, but when trying to put the hood up it stopped at the top without LATCHING. I tried to lower it a bit, and then luckily raised it again and got it to latch. Now, it has the flashing RED light on the up button.

If I manually put the hood down, it will LATCH by command (no hood motor sound), but not when I manually put it up and crank it to latch. It won't latch and the flashing light never goes out. I cannot clear the error logged in the module. I have read every single posting on every website ever written about this problem  (and no.... it is NOT an ORANGE light, or the shelf switch in the boot that every post mentions). I will check the fuses tonight, but I have little optimism there. I'm interested to know if you had the flashing red light and if you ended up getting this repaired somehow.

I have seen details in how to remove the latch motor indicating that there are 2 "hidden" screws on the far ends of the FRONT SIDE of the top of the hood that need to also be removed. If I can locate that again I will add it here for you and any others that may gain from this later. :)

Hi

Mine has developed this exact same issue. Error code s145, but I don't know how to access it . Did you figure out how to do it?

Thanks!
